Roughly two hours north of the Twin Cities, Duluth is one of the best places to live in Minnesota. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, Duluth is surrounded by lush hills and parks. The town also has tons of restaurants and cultural institutions, including the Duluth Art Institute and Duluth Playhouse. The city’s laid-back atmosphere and low cost of living make it a major draw for many people moving to Minnesota.

  • Monticello, Minnesota

Monticello offers a beautiful view of the Mississippi while being a short drive down 94 to get into the Twin Cities. It has plenty of parks for the whole family to explore and a good school system if you’re looking for a place to raise your family. 

  • Rochester, Minnesota

In 2022, Rochester was rated third on the “Best Places to Live in the U.S.,” according to Livability, following Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Madison, Wisconsin.
