Logan Park is a small neighborhood that makes up the northeast community of Minneapolis. It is named after Logan Park which is, in turn, named after John A. Logan, a Civil War general and US senator. The neighborhood is essentially built around Logan Park and dates back to the early 1800s. As a result, you will find an abundance of large Victorian homes that are still used as residential and commercial units to date.
The 150-acre neighborhood is largely occupied by residential units (40%) followed by industrial units (30%). The rest of it abounds parks and other recreational amenities. Logan Park is carefully divided into a residential district and an industrial area by the railroad tracks that run parallel to Central Avenue. Other buildings that fill up the community include the Northrop King Building, Van Buren Building, Architectural Antiques Building, and the Waterbury Building.
